Oh my goodness!! I consider this is one of Phil's most emotional albums. As a fellow guitarist, and taught vicariously thru his recordings, I can say this is one of his best works. As far as his electric guitar albums go,...it is rivaled only by Crimson and Blue, Blue, and Revelator!
A few of the songs will grab your attention at the beginning and by the end,...you just want to shout, "OH, YEAH!" Definatly worth the purchase.

If you are new to Phils music, THIS is the CD to start your collection. Fabulous rifs, wonderfully crafted, and a must have for any party or get-to-gether.

This album is one of my most favorite of all time. In my oppinion, it is one for all true Keaggy fans. SOME new fans may not appreciate it right away, because it is so different from the pop music that people get on Christian Radio. It doesn't have vocals, but you can really hear Phil and his guitar. This Cd is VERY unique. I loved from the FIRST time I l listened to it. Everyone should eventually own it, but it may not be the best choice for the newer listeners to Phil's music. It truly shows how unbelievably gifted from God Phil is, so it is a MUST HAVE, in my opinion

From the opening rock riff of it's first track, Animal, any listener of rock music worth his salt will be hooked on Phil Keaggy. 220 is an album to put on your shelf next to classics like Michael W. Smith's I2(eye), Steven Curtis Chapman's Great Adventure, or George Harrison's All Things Must Pass. It is solid from beginning to end, with an eclectic selection of tracks. With the hard hitting Animal and Arrow, to the sit on your front porch with a cup of coffee Tennessee Morning. From the lengthy and story driven The Great Escape to the cool bluesly Ian's Groove. With Celtic themes thrown in as well, this album has something in it for everyone, yet is pulled together in a complete symbiotic collective. Phil is truely a master and 220 is his best instrumental album to date.

Simply the finest rock-n-roll guitar album of all time.

As you very well may know, "220" is one of Phil's most acclaimed instrumentals of all time. Since most of Phil's instrumentals revolve around the acoustic guitar, "220" is special and unique in that it gives us a taste of his straight-ahead rock skills. And believe me reader--they are here on this collection.

This time around, Phil did not save his best tracks for last--he put them right in the beginning. "Animal" and "Arrow" are (I think) the two best songs on the album. Let's start with the former. "Animal" is one such song that gets to the core of me every time I hear it. It has a 'down & dirty' rock sound that is among the best I have ever heard from Phil. It is entirely memorable. When you think that "Animal" is going to end--actually, it wouldn't do the song justice for me to describe the ending--you need to hear it for yourself. All I will say is that this ending is one of the most climactic endings I have heard in any Phil Keaggy song. "Arrow" is another great song that is deep and reflective. The tone of this song is darker than that of "Animal"--it is like Phil exploring a completely different world.

Not every song on "220" grabbed me the way the first two did, but that's okay. Every song here has something that you can take away from it. It's hard to believe that it's been almost ten years since the release of "220." Reader--don't hesitate to purchase this cd. I really think you'll like it.
